INSTRUCTIONS FOR FALL BAND
CONTEST ANNOUNCER
(1) In your packet of materials, you should have an Announcement Sheet for each Band in this competition. You should also find a list of Judges and an Order of Appearance.
(2) Please check the Order of Appearance against your Announcement Sheets for each Band. If there are any problems, please inform the Contest Coordinator.
(3) If you have any problems with the pronunciation of any names, please speak to the Contest Coordinator.
(4) Please review and announce all future NESBA Contests (there will be a list in your packet of materials).
(5) If there are any Air Grams, NESBA policy requires you to stop reading them once the Band is ready to enter the field. You may read any that are left over when the Band has finished their performance.
(6) Please adhere to the following format during this NESBA Contest:
(a) Give your welcome and introduction
(b) Read your list of Judges
(c) Announce your first unit
(d) When you have finished your introduction of each unit, please ask the following:
(1) Are the Judges ready? (Timing Judge will respond with a wave)
(2) Drum Major: Is your Band ready? (Drum Major will salute)
(3) You may take the field for NESBA evaluation....
(8) There are some bits of information about NESBA that you might read
between units (history, scholarship information, future contests, etc.)
(9) Check with the NESBA Contest Coordinator about the length of the
Intermission and about anything else that he may want you to announce.
(10) Please continually announce the NESBA Championship Finals.
(11) Announce the NESBA Code of Conduct before the start of the Contest and
during the Intermission.
