NESBA has established a Scholarship Program which will provide six (6 as of 2002) $500.00 scholarships to students who have been active participants in NESBA Programs. These Scholarships are divided into three (3) categories:

Two (2) Scholarships are awarded to graduating students who

(1) Have participated in their school band program which is a member in
     good standing of NESBA;

(2) Have made a major contribution to that program; and

(3) Have been accepted to an accredited, 4 year degree granting institution as a
     Music Major.

One (2) Scholarships will be awarded to graduating students who  

(1) Have participated in their school band program which is a member in good
     standing of NESBA;

(2) Have made a major contribution to that program; and

(3) Have been accepted to an accredited, 4 year degree granting institution.

One (2) Scholarships will be awarded to graduating student s who

(1) Have participated in their school band front and/or winter colorguard
     which is a member in good standing of NESBA;

(2) Have made a major contribution to that program; and

(3) Have been accepted to an accredited 4 year degree granting institution.

 APPLICATIONS SHOULD CONSIST OF::

(1) Application Form: May be obtained from Band Director in
     February/March

(2) Applicants Personal Letter: Containing a list of his/her contributions to
     the school music organization, the state organization, NESBA, outside
     musical organizations, honors, academic awards, and career or professional goals.

(3) Letters of Recommendation from Faculty and Guidance Counselor

(4) Transcript

(5) Copy of College Acceptance Letter

Winners will be personally contacted and will also be announced at the June NESBA Meeting.
